These projects, developed in partnership with researchers and staff at the CREG\u00c9S who support them in terms of research, evaluation and knowledge transfer, involve the participation of collaborators from the clinical and community practice settings. The development of Leading practices attests to the CREG\u00c9S\u2019s commitment, as part of its academic mission in social gerontology, to develop better practices by focusing on research and innovation.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is a Leading practice?<\/b> A Leading practice is a set of structured activities designed to fill gaps or address needs in service delivery, and to produce innovative knowledge and tools.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/publications.msss.gouv.qc.ca\/msss\/document-000726\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reference framework<\/a> for the university designation of the social services sector establishments, a Leading practice must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Constitute <b>specific and well-defined<\/b> expertise;<\/li>\n<li>Represent an <b>innovation<\/b> compared to the current or standard practices (improvement or new practice);<\/li>\n<li>Be subject to a development <b>process<\/b> that includes implementation and review;<\/li>\n<li>Be associated with <b>research<\/b> and <b>evaluation<\/b>;<\/li>\n<li>Be subject to <b>knowledge transfer and mobilization<\/b> activities within the establishment;<\/li>\n<li>Be developed with a perspective of <b>transfer to other organizations<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At CREG\u00c9S, the development process of Leading practices is comprised of 6 main steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Emergence and identification of a need;<\/li>\n<li>Analysis of relevance;<\/li>\n<li>Development;<\/li>\n<li>Implementation and evaluation;<\/li>\n<li>Updates;<\/li>\n<li>Adaptation and\/or conclusion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;2_3,1_3&#8243; Reference Framework for Developing Leading Practices in the Health and Social Services Sector<\/a> (in English)<\/p>\n<p>This reference framework, developed by the Directorate of Learning Partnerships and Knowledge Activation (formerly, Academic Affairs and Research Ethics) of Sant\u00e9 Qu\u00e9bec West-Central Montreal Health and Social Services University Network (formerly the Centre int\u00e9gr\u00e9 universitaire de sant\u00e9 et de services sociaux du Centre-Ouest-de-l&#8217;\u00cele-de-Montr\u00e9al), is intended for the entire institutional community, its managers, staff, physicians, students, researchers, volunteers, patients and users, all of whom may be involved in the development, evaluation and implementation of <strong>leading practices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Its goals are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To share a common definition of a leading practice, the major steps and factors that contribute to its development and its sustainability in the provision of services;<\/li>\n<li>To develop a common understanding of the principles that govern their implementation, the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders and authorities that support their development with a view toward innovation and continuous improvement of practices;<\/li>\n<li>To provide teams with tools to help them identify ideas or practices that have the potential to become leading practices so they can support these practices\u2019 development, evaluation and transfer to other organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243;
