For whom?<\/strong> For groups of 5-10 older adults who are experiencing psychosocial issues, with or without a mental illness diagnosis, that limit their community participation.<\/p>\n

Why? <\/strong>Increase participation in activities and socialization spaces available in the community.<\/p>\n

Where? <\/strong>In health and social service establishments, community organizations or residences.<\/p>\n

By whom? <\/strong> Healthcare professionals, community practitioners, or peer helpers.<\/p>\n

Count Me In! is a ready-to-use program, available in English and French, with flexible and adaptable activities. It includes animation materials, tools, adaptation ideas, video clips and more!<\/p>\n

4 Parts<\/span><\/h3>\n

Part 1. <\/strong>An individual interview of each participant with the group leader, to help the participant identify their interests and form a personal objective related to their community participation.<\/p>\n

Part 2. <\/strong>A series of 8 group workshops, ranging from 90 to 120 minutes, on different topics. The activities are varied, both interactive and reflective.<\/p>\n

Part 3. <\/strong>Visits to community organizations are made and participants are provided with information to encourage the use of community resources.<\/p>\n

Part 4. <\/strong>A collective media communication activity: participants choose, from their reflection, the messages to be inserted into canvases that will be published in an organization’s or community’s media.<\/p>\n
