Sabrina Lessard, Institutional researcher at CREGÉS, received grants for two of her research projects.
Pratiques d’intervention du secteur communautaire en matière de lutte contre la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées : Apports de la théorie de la pratique appliquée au champ de l’intervention
Dr. Lessard recieved $71 678 for her project Pratiques d’intervention du secteur communautaire en matière de lutte contre la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées : Apports de la théorie de la pratique appliquée au champ de l’intervention. This grant, offered by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), will run for two years, from July 2024 to July 2026.
Patrik Marier, Scientific Director of CREGÉS, and Alexandra Charette, Associate Researcher, are co-investigators on this project. Émilie Richard-Frèvre, a researcher specializing in rural aging at CREGÉS, Sarita Israel, coordinator of the Domain of expertise to Counter mistreatment of older adults at CREGÉS, and Philippe Toupin, project manager at the Coalition DIRA-SAVa, will also be collaborating on the project.

Living, aging and dying in geriatric institutions: Co-creating a knowledge mobilization project through the arts
Dr. Lessard also received $10,000 from the Blanchard Family Chair for Teaching and Research in Palliative Care at the Université de Montréal for her project entitled Vivre, vieillir et mourir en institution gériatrique : Cocréation d’un projet de mobilisation des connaissances par les arts.
The funding covers the period from April 2024 to December 2025.
The partners in this project are CREGÉS and the Fondation Berthiaume-Du Tremblay, and the co-investigators are Sylvie Fortin, professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Pediatrics at the Université de Montréal, Tamara Sussman, researcher member of CREGÉS, and Émilie Allard, professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. Collaborators on this project include Émilie Cormier, a doctoral student in psychology at Université du Québec à Montréal, Sandra Smele, coordinator of CREGÉS’ Inclusive Aging, Diversity, Health and Well-Being (IDSB) Domain of Expertise, Julie Espinasse, founder of Atelier Mille Mille, Jacques Poulin-Denis, artistic director and general manager of Grand Poney, and circus artist Francis Roberge.
