CREGÉS well represented at the 54th Scientific and Educational Meeting of the Canadian Association on Gerontology!
CREGÉS will be at the forefront of the 54th Scientific and Educational Meeting of the Canadian Association on Gerontology (CAG), to be held in Montreal from October 23 to 25, 2025.
In collaboration with ACT, engAGE, and the RQRV, CREGÉS will kick off the event by organizing the pre-conference “Aging and Public Policy 101” on October 23 at 8:30 a.m. at the Bonaventure Hotel (900 De la Gauchetière Street West, Montreal).
A Day in Two Parts
The aim is to encourage discussion between academia, community organisations and politicians, and to emphasise the important part that public policy plays in the field of aging. The day will explore the various ways in which these policies can address the needs, rights and realities of older adults. The morning seminar, Aging and Public Policy 101: Creating Space, introduces public policies related to ageing and older adults. Initiated by the Student Connection Network of the Canadian Association on Gerontology, it consists of four sessions led by three CREGÉS members and Concordia University Department of Political Science professors. One session will be offered in French and another in English.
In the afternoon, the symposium Aging and Public Policy 101: Lessons from Home and Abroad will present concrete examples of public policies related to aging. It will emphasise the essential role of research and the importance of collaboration between the scientific community and political authorities. Experiences from Quebec, New Brunswick, the rest of Canada and France will demonstrate the variety of contexts and approaches. The symposium will be in French with simultaneous translation into English with Word.ly
