Update April 6: This event has now been re-scheduled to April 25 at 12:00pm.
Various obstacles hinder the social inclusion of aging people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate in leisure or volunteer activities in their community. In order to overcome this, it is essential to implement new practices that support creating environments that encourage active aging among these populations. To this end, the program “Mentorat actif en soutien à l’inclusion sociale (MASIS)” has been co-developed as a new innovative practice proposed by the member organizations of the Regroupement québécois du parrainage civique. This activity aims to present the components of this program to be implemented in different regions of Quebec and to officially launch the implementation guide.
This activity is presented in collaboration with the Institut universitaire en déficience intellectuelle et en trouble du spectre de l’autisme of CIUSSS de la Mauricie-et-du-Centre-du-Québec.
