3 of the 9 research grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec’s Actions concertées competition under the theme of social exclusion and older adults « Les personnes aînées confrontées à l’exclusion sociale » were awarded to research teams involving an impressive number of CREGÉS members!
NEW BOOK: ”Preventing Dementia? Critical Perspectives on a New Paradigm of Preparing for Old Age”
This book co-edited by Annette Leibing, CREGÉS researcher, addresses the prevention of dementia and will be the subject of a CREGÉS Conference in January 2021.

Chaire de la famille Blanchard – Award winner
The Chaire de la famille Blanchard pour l’enseignement et la recherche en soins palliatifs de l’Université de Montréal offered a scholarship to a project involving Patrick Durivage.
Conference “Les CHSLD en question”
On November 4, 2019, several CREGÉS members participated in a conference on Residential and Long-Term Care Centres (CHSLDs) organized by the Institut sur le vieillissement et la participation sociale des aînés (IVPSA).
CREGÉS at the National Caregiver Day
On April 7, 2020, the CREGÉS was proud to participate in the National Caregiver Day with a workshop entitled: “Supporting Caregivers Accompanying a Person with Advanced Illness in a Home Setting: An Interactive Workshop” on the Carers Canada website.

The Réseau québécois de recherche sur le vieillissement (RQRV) recently publicly announced the funded projects of 2019-2020.
Action Research Project Grants in Active Aging
On February 13, 2020, the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC) and the Secrétariat aux aînés of the MSSS announced the attribution of two grants to research teams which include CREGÉS members. CREGÉS stands out once again for its participation in half of the projects funded.
New book: Gerontological Social Work in Action : Anti-Oppressive Practice with Older Adults, their Families, and Communities
This book, co-authored by Shari Brotman, CREGÉS researcher, introduces the notion of “anti-oppression gerontology” (AOG), a critical approach to social work with older adults, their families, and communities.
