We are thrilled to welcome Patrik Marier for his renewed mandate as the Scientific Director of the CREGÉS.
He is a full professor in Concordia University’s Department of Political Science, and lead researcher of the research team VIES (Vieillissement, exclusions sociales et solidarités). Through his leadership, he collaborates with many organizations in the field of social gerontology, including FADOQ, Maison Cross Roads and the Table de concertation des aînés de l’île de Montréal (TCAIM).
His research in gerontology, public policy, and political sciences focuses on the impact of aging populations in a number of fields including pensions, labour, and social services and programs. Last year, he published the book The Four Lenses of Population Aging: Planning for the Future in Canada’s Provinces (University of Toronto Press), and he is principal investigator on various ongoing research projects contributing to advances in the field of social gerontology.
As scientific director, his leadership will help bring greater visibility and innovation to the research of our members and our mission.
