A CREGÉS team, composed of Sabrina Lessard, institutional researcher, Noémie Giguère, research professional for the Domain of Expertise to counter mistreatment, and Geneviève Arsenault-Lapierre, institutional researcher and head of the evaluation unit at CREGÉS, is currently conducting an evaluation of a new screening tool for detecting signs of mistreatment against informal caregivers.
The development and the evaluation of this tool are part of the mandate entrusted by the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Québec in response to Measure 18 of the 2022-2027 Government Action Plan to Counter Mistreatment of Older Adults.
This tool complements the Toolkit for the Well-being of Caregivers: A Shared Responsibility (La bientraitance des personnes proches aidantes : une responsabilité partagée) and aims to support workers in Quebec’s health and social services network (RSSS) and in the community sector in detecting situations of abuse against informal caregivers.
In order to verify its suitability, an assessment of its acceptability, usability and sensitivity is being conducted among community stakeholders and health and social services professionals working with caregivers throughout Quebec.
Call for participants:
The evaluation team is looking for volunteers who wish to test a tool for detecting mistreatment against caregivers and who either:
✔️ Work in the community sector OR
✔️ Work as professionals in the health and social services network (RSSS)
We are seeking your collaboration in using this new detection tool in your workplace so that situations of abuse experienced by caregivers can be identified more readily.
