The program is now available, and registration is now open for the 2026 edition of the CREGÉS annual symposium, Vieillissement et rapports à la mort : Diversité des expériences de la fin de vie, du mourir et du deuil.
This year’s event will be a collective reflection on the diversity of end-of-life, dying and bereavement experiences among older adults. This event is intended for a broad audience including those working in social intervention and research, as well as students, older adults and caregivers.

The day’s programming (primarily in French) includes panels and lectures on end-of-life care, dying and grief. Presentations and activities will cover topics such as:
- support for caregivers,
- grief in the workplace,
- palliative care for people experiencing homelessness,
- end-of-life care for people with neurocognitive disorders,
- music therapy for people with dementia,
- the development of cultures of dying,
- addressing sexuality in palliative care,
- the social acceptability of medical aid in dying in Quebec, and much more!
In addition to lecture sessions organized by theme, each to be followed by a roundtable Q&A session with the audience, the symposium will also feature several interactive activities for in-person participants. These include:
- the workshop “Pour soutenir les PPA qui accompagnent une personne gravement malade à domicile”
- a guided tour of the photo exhibition “Revenir à la maison? Une exposition sur l’expérience des soins palliatifs de fin de vie de personnes âgées qui ont connu l’itinérance”
Those who wish to attend virtually will find a full day of programming on these current issues, including a moderated chat and the opportunity to pose questions to speakers.
