We are pleased to announce the closing activity of the upcoming symposium Vieillissement et rapports à la mort : Diversité des expériences de la fin de vie, du mourir et du deuil, to be held on November 18. Participants are invited to take part in a collective discussion to reflect together and share perspectives on the themes of aging, death, end of life, bereavement, suffering, and meaning.

Facilitated by Valérie Bourgeois-Guérin, researcher, member of CREGÉS and Co-Director (Society and Culture) of the Réseau québécois de recherche sur le vieillissement (RQRV), along with Patrick Durivage, coordinator of the CREGÉS Domain of Expertise in Palliative Care, this activity offers an opportunity for listening, sharing, and reflection on the personal and professional resonances inspired by the day’s presentations.

Beyond academic perspectives, the activity seeks to open a dialogue on deeply human issues that affect us collectively. This space is designed to:

  • encourage the sharing of experiences and reflections in a spirit of openness and compassion;
  • provide mutual support to deepen our understanding of these realities;
  • generate ideas and avenues for action inspired by the discussions, with the goal of fostering a compassionate community.
